Planning your family’s São Tomé citizenship budget
MFG Consultants | Programme information reviewed on 28 October 2026.
A useful citizenship budget connects the people applying with the services and charges included. Our standard planning estimates are US$115,000 for one applicant and US$120,000 for an eligible family of two to four. Use them to begin a discussion, then confirm the scope and assumptions in an individual written proposal.
What is included in the US$115,000 or US$120,000 estimate?
For one applicant, the estimate comprises a US$90,000 contribution, a US$20,000 processing package and a US$5,000 MFG Consultants advisory and coordination fee. For a family of two to four, the contribution is US$95,000, with the same processing package and MFG Consultants fee. The principal applicant counts within the family total.
What is assumed to be included in the US$20,000 processing package?
The US$20,000 package covers due diligence, legal process services and passport delivery. Our pricing assumption is that official submission and citizenship-document fees are also included, pending confirmation in your written proposal. They are not added separately to the planning estimate. Ask for this inclusion to be confirmed before committing funds.
What does the US$5,000 MFG Consultants service include?
The US$5,000 MFG Consultants service includes a review of your family’s goals, a written decision and budget plan, a named coordination contact and a closing review of next steps. The legal programme work belongs to the processing package. MFG Consultants focuses on clarifying your decisions, organising the plan and coordinating the agreed next steps from Portugal with authorised local representation in São Tomé.
When is an individual quotation required?
Applicable taxes, applicants beyond four, sponsorship and exceptional costs require individual confirmation. Tell us about these circumstances before relying on the standard estimate. The official programme publishes a US$5,000 benefactor due diligence fee; it is added only where applicable and not already included in the agreed package. The written proposal should make that treatment clear.
Family members added after approval-in-principle have a separate official inclusion schedule. Confirm whether everyone will join the original application. Ask which additional translations, certifications or document procurement costs, if any, remain outside your agreed package and when each payment becomes due. Request written payment and refund terms.
Does the estimate confirm family eligibility or timing?
A budget estimate does not establish each family member’s eligibility or timing. The September 2026 consular notice identifies a pause affecting naturalisation and passports for specified adult dependents. If your plans include adult children or parents/grandparents, obtain current confirmation before linking the budget to a completion date.
Bring your family composition, objectives and document questions to the first discussion. The individual proposal should show what is included, what remains conditional and the responsibilities at each stage, so you can decide with a clear view of the commitment.
